My asthma problem this time of year isn't allergies. It's wood fires. The slightest hint of cold weather and people are burning wood. I wake up coughing because of them.
I would love a fireplace, but same.
Pollen, mold, dust, dampness, extreme cold, pet hair, cigarette smoke, chemicals, fragrances...most days when I snuggle my cat I'm fine, but some days I start breaking out in hives and need my inhaler. It follows no rhyme or reason.
I tend to avoid visiting people because sometimes I end up feeling like hell for the next 2 days after being in their houses. Scented candles, dust, sometimes just the using the scented hand soap in the bathroom after 2 cups of coffee is enough.
When I fix vacuums I use masks and work outside and I can still tell you if that person has a dog or a cat and which, if they smoke and what they smoke, if they use scented candles or perfume (and whether it's the cheap shit or expensive), if they sprinkle their carpets with carpet fresh, have sprayed for ants, have old carpet...or have a potential moisture problem.
