I do not know how the law works in Australia so I do not know how dangerous a law like this is. If the laws are made the same way they are in the US is could be big trouble. Here, laws are made it the courtroom based on court decisions. So in would only take a few degrees of separation to have it extend into the general public. Meaning, someone is convicted of making fun of this guy, then someone else it, Then some lawyer argues that this other dude should have the same rights, and then it turns into that no one can insult anyone as long as some dumb judge agrees. That is why laws like this are dangerous in the US.
How are laws made in Aus ? can there be a slippery slope of censorship ?
