I watched a Top Gear episode the other day. Jay Leno was the guest, and he joked about the many speed cameras in the UK, pointing out that in California, people would just pick up their guns and shoot at them.

Authorities only have authority if you let them.

I know, it's not that simple, but mindsets differ.

Sounds like something Lit would do

I am very distrustful of people in authority and don't fall for things like this.  We get all kinds of scam mail and calls trying to get info like this or to send them money with fake invoices due to having a business.  On a side note due to dyslexia I can't even give out my Social Security number without having it written in front of me which can be somewhat embarrassing :-[

I'm gonna go mug people in Norway. :zoinks:

I still find hard to believe that this is true. I mean the usual response to a stranger phishing you is to tell them to fuck off isn't it?
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

The trick is to look and sound official, if you give the impression that you are supposed to be doing what you are doing people rarely ask to many questions. Where I used to work I was what was called the 'clean up' guy I went around fixing things and picking up extra materials and equipment sometime $5000 worth or more I drove an unmarked white or brown van, it was rare for anyone to question me about what I was doing.

he had a cameraman with him, with the "TV2" logo on it.
they knew they were "safe"
they were responding to "an authority" (tv) even if he was clearly being a douchebag "hi! i am here to control you!"

If anyone approached me with a TV camera and asked for my Social Security number, I would have a telegenic response ready:  :fingers:

How big is the chance that the reaction of the two of you would be broadcasted?

There is no fun in showing sensible people when it comes to something like this.

its still worrying that they were able to produce 5-6 samples.
our towns are small, and preferably, there should be no such samples at all.

its like when americans get angry at examples of stupid americans
"what is mexico?" "is it a type of food :S" <---for example, on tv
"HEY!!! they only show the dumbest ones they can find >:0" <---counter argument
^
but you shouldnt be able to find ANYBODY that stupid.

People often are that gullible.
Don't think it is just Scandinavian.

We've got ads here, warning people not to tell everything.
Every time I do my banking online, I get told not to give my codes to anyone.
Lots of time banks send out warnings how they never ask for a pin-code via phone or email. Apparently plenty of people just give that, when asked by someone appearing to be an authority.
Gullible, very gullible.

Sound like you could have stolen lots of stuff.

How long is a Social Security number? Is everyone meant to remember their own?
