I was up late (early) writing code for my whitepaper. Slept a few hours, then made coffee and logged on here.

My post count suffers when I have a paper to finish.

Went with a couple of friends out for a really long drive in the countryside on the scooters. Mostly to avoid the bigots with their 12th July celebrations, or "Burn The Catholics Day," as we now know it

Good day for me though. Went through lots of wee villages, and got tons of ice-cream, ice-lollies, and chips. Scooters are an awesome way to get around in this heat :2thumbsup:

I think when I move abroad, I will try to pluck up the courage to get a proper fast motorbike. It would be an amazing way to see a new country in the summer.

This afternoon, amongst other things I did, I've collected most of the flowers of the st. John's wort plants in my garden.

Chopped them up finely and put that into a small bottle and poured vodka over it. Now the little bottle is standing in the sun and will remain there for the coming four weeks. Stuff through a sieve and then the tincture will be ready to use. As an mild anti-depression 'solution' that is.

Dislike the mood-swing effect is has on me but dislike 'downtime' even more so.

Attended a bluegrass jam session at an Irish pub.  :headbang2:

While at the pub I conversed with a gentleman who was cool and we had good conversation about music, culture, and genetics.
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

Forget practicality, or your experience....can you just....imagine?

It's there. It always was.

Cleaned, sanded, dusted and oiled the surface of my garden table for the first time today.

Now it is about time to polish the oil. Tomorrow I hope to do it again, then I'll do the legs and such of the table too.

It is looking very good. And it will look better after I have polished it. That will give it a nice shine, and a good protection. The polishing helps hardening the oil to a good protective layer. It's teak, the wood would last without the treatment too, but now it will keep the golden honey colour, and I do love that.

Please post a picture of this lovely table when it is all done.   :toporly:
