Fed the family, cleaned some house, got the recycling ready for recycling (we've had none since Katrina), laundry, wrote a letter and did some other correspondence thingies, replaced the A/C filter in the car (but can't quite figure out how to get the glove box hinge attached inside the dashboard   :eyelash:), called my sister, bathed, grocery shopped, dumpster dived.

Haven't done a lot today, yet.

Called to make an appointment to have the serpentine belt changed on the car.  Had to rush because they could take me in an hour.  Was in and out in about 2 hours (when it's over 100 degrees in the shop they have to take mandated cooling breaks, so it takes longer for tasks) at a cost of $120.

Got half of the kitchen done so I'm definitely happy with that. Ran some errands. Picked up the kids from their Dad's. Chatted with the neighbours.

Had physical therapy and saw the doctor to discuss my MRI.  I have a tear in my medial meniscus, so I need to see a knee surgeon and see what he recommends.

Took urchin to school.  Today is his school trip.  They are going on a farm, and will be feeding baby animals and a tractor ride

So i hung around outside to see him off on the coach.  A few of the gossipy mums were there. An example of why i don't get involved with them:

Red haired bint chatting to blonde in full make up about her manicured nails.  Red turns to nail job and says  "Oh well the letter didn't say wellies,  it just said optional. So Owen has gone in his new trainers, i hope he doesn't ruin them"  Then she shouts at her kid "don't ruin your trainers" as he gets on the coach!!!   :facepalm2: :facepalm2: :facepalm2: :facepalm2:

Duuhhh its pissing down with rain, they are going on a farm  :facepalm2:  how thick and stupid can you be :hahaha:

Hope you get him back exited, covered in mud, and happily jumping into your arms. And you smiling with the biggest grin possible.

Yes he was well excited so i am sure he will have fun.  He is not the kind of kid that
lets the rain bother him anyway - he loves mud!

He is well funny lately, the things he says like  "mmmm....interesting"  and  "I have a simple plan"

He is such an urchin 8)

Kids and mud, perfect combination. Your son is a kid to my heart.   :2thumbsup:

Soon, he'll be telling you he has a cunning plan.  :checkout:

This early evening I tried to 'level' a couple of street tiles. Some roots of a big tree in front the kitchen window (public space) lifted them and it looked quite messy for already a long time. Not at all my responsibility (city needs to fix it but they don't care, it seems/hate my guts anyway).

So.. I took my big chisel, my rubber and another decent hammer and an old big screwdriver out and first.. removed three heavy tiles, got rid of some roots altogether and chiseled away the tops of a few thick ones. Easier to write it down now as doing it at p/m eight o'clock this evening, I tell ya.

Um, hurt my right hand a tadski, I now know, doing it.. but.. made a stable soil-base (with screwdriver/loosening and leveling soil) and laid the tiles back in place.. giving them a bit of a beating with my mallet.

Well, blahiah.. looks three/four tads better now and folks can park their (frikkin') cars there more comfortably as well, I reckon.. now

Tried to fix my mothers laptop this afternoon too.. but failed, made a stew (nice to make/nice to eat also), a vegetable broth for later on to use, showered, ran some errands, fed the birds outside, etc..

Not much. Helped ladybug reorganize her kitchen set. did the dishes, laundry, had a nap, played lego, read books, cooked, now watching a movie with the kids.
