Mowed 1/2 of our not too big back yard.  On to 1/2 of the front tomorrow.

Chased down a fire after hearing a lot of sirens and seeing a lot of smoke.  I was in a swamp with a walking trail right around a mile from my house near the train tracks

Filled Easter basket with Easter grass, two dozen plastic eggs, half of which have candy and half have Easter erasers, large stuffed bunny which is holding a small stuffed bunny, some Jelly Belly jelly beans, six egg shaped sidewalk chalks in a carton, two magic growing bunnies, two large Disney princess filled Easter eggs, and some cotton candy.

Also cooked soup.  Yesterday, I made ice cream.

How did you do that?  What ingredients did you use?

I used about a half gallon of whole milk and a pint of heavy whipping cream, sugar, vanilla, fresh ginger root, peeled and thinly sliced and blenderized with the milk and sugar, then sieved to get the fresh ginger flavor without the strings.  I put this into an ice cream freezer and added the appropriate amount of ice and ice cream salt and turned it on.  After it started to freeze, I stirred in a pound of candied crystallized diced ginger, removed the paddle and added more ice and salt to the ice cream freezer so the ginger ice cream could ripen.  It is very good.

I would love to have you as a mother! your daughter is so lucky.
Do you even make a basket for your hubby?

i havent done much today

He wasn't here for Easter because he was on a business trip, so no, I didn't.

I could give him some Hershey's Special Dark foil wrapped Easter eggs, though.  Do you think I should?  He comes home tonight.

I did give him some as soon as he came home and he liked them.  I didn't make him an Easter basket, though.

Nice. I've been meaning to ask you about soup, I  have to start eating abit healthy and i've decided to start chopping up various things, bell peppers, onions, jalepenos, cyan pepper and of course potatoes  to throw into a pot, and enjoy for like a week.

For some reason the longer it sits in the fridge it tastes better, :blonde:

So what other soups are delicious and wouldnt require 5 hours of preptime?

I dont really want to add any meat products exept bacon.  >:D
But mostely vedgetables, peppers and of course that cream in a can stuff yummy

Vegetable soup is really good, IMO.

I like to add boiled eggs to my cream of potato soup, but you might prefer bacon instead.

I wash, peel and cut up the potatoes and throw them into some cold water, enough to barely cover them.  I add a couple of chicken bullion cubes and some black pepper, but you could use some vegetable bullion instead or just some salt to taste, if you prefer.  Then I boil the potatoes until they are done.  How long it takes depends on how small I cut the potatoes, so if I'm in a hurry, I thinly slice the potatoes, then cut the slices into quarters and those cook in the same amount of time that it takes to boil the eggs.

I add a little milk and / or cream and the sliced and quartered boiled eggs at the same time, mix them in with little more black pepper and maybe a little cayenne pepper, then I eat my soup.

Thanks for that, sounds like you love cooking. I've also heard that you should always put potatoes in cold water so it doesnt damage the flavor? I dont know but i dont think you can really mess up a potatoe. there so delicious

and now have 2345 karma.

You could take some spaghetti sauce and dilute it with chicken stock, add some chopped veggies, sprinkle with parmesan cheese and serve with garlic bread.

Take something like rice a roni and add some extra water and stock, throw in a can of mixed veggies.

Drizzle a beaten egg into a soup for an egg drop soup

I just finished making a ten tentacled Cthulhu-like stuffed animal pillow for my daughter's birthday, which will be near the end of the month.  The undersides of the tentacles are made of an interesting polka-dot fabric to resemble suction cups and the outer part is made of green fleece.  I used the leftover polka-dot fabric to make a custom shaped pillow to go inside the body and head of the stuffed animal pillow.
