Went to the Salvos Christmas lunch wearing a really loud shirt. I had grilled fish and salad (there was a lot of salad) but the best part was the sticky date pudding with butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream. Delicious!

I sat across from a guy I work with and his partner and they were hilarious. They showed me pictures of their goats and alpacas that they have on a farm.

Got up, read the paper, did the dishes, the usual zen blah!

I polished the wood furniture, cleaned the air vents, and put in fresh filters. I picked up prescriptions, shipped Christmas gifts, and got a haircut. :hadron: I still need to color my hair, but I'll do that this evening.

Took the car in to have an oil leak fixed and exhaust mounts replaced. All before 10:30am.

Some years ago, Carla came up with the idea of having a "disaster box" in the event of some major catastrophe and we would have to evacuate or worse.  She actually got the idea from somewhere and my memory doesn't serve me there.  Anywho, it has food for 3 days or so, as well as water for the same amount of time.  I am the keeper of the box and monitor it for expired items and switch them out with stuff (canned goods, snacks etc.)  So this year, I went thru and found most of the stuff has expired and today I finished the replenishment of most of them.  Along with making a list of items and expiration dates....so except for few items, we're good till 2024.  <whew>

I would also suggest including about two weeks worth of any significant medications anyone might require. Those are much more difficult to come by than food and water.

Usually short expiration times, but possibly urgent in case of emergency.
