Thinking Hollywood should try to come up with something new for once.

Unpacked a few boxes. Did some more shopping to refill the pantry. Cleaned the cat's litter trays. Got my desk and computer setup after my internet decided to work finally.
So have you moved house?

Kayleigh wants me to see Dune but it it isn't out here until December.

Yes I have. Got the keys on Thursday.
Congratulations.

Took the cub trick-or-treating for the first time. Between costume malfunction and a scary house that had adult-scary moving mannequins and stuff in the front yard, he didn't have a good time in the end.  :-[

Not a failure as a mama, I know, but damn it I just wanted the kid to have fun and share some of my enjoyment of the season.

First time for mine was kind of a bust too.

Hopefully next year will be better. The one house that loves to go overboard is at the end of a cul-de-sac, so it should be easy to avoid.

Went to the cinema for the first time since lockdown and saw Dune.  Nearly 3 hours long and even though I was in the bigger, comfier VIP chairs I still wished my body bent like a reed in the wind.

If you liked the book go see it -it's the best version they've done.

I understand from reviews I've read that Skarsgard  (sp?) is phenomenal in his portrayal. I can't wait to see it.

He's the Baron, right?  Yeah.  He's pretty good.

Harkonen? Been a long time since I read it.

I will go to see the movie when it is here.

Third bid on a possible candidate for our new home, today.

Just waiting.

Hey good news/take away from this:  We found something we can afford and if we get it, I will make it OURS!!!

Lied to a pain in the ass customer telling him I could not get to him until after his deadline and he should find someone else

Sometimes, a white lie is the best way to be true to your needs and the needs of others.

Makes it rough, though. You're ending a relationship with most lies.

:green: That sounds awesome.

... Eighteen bids, though, in a day?

 :hide:

Remember this?

Yesterday, we saw a home that was in our budget, and three other realtors were there with clients while we were inspecting the home.

I loved it and put in our bid. That was 10:30AM. We were contacted by our realtor to note that our bid was not going to be accepted or rejected until tomorrow. At 4:00PM when she contacted me again, there were already twenty other bids for this home. We were # twenty one in line to have a chance to buy.

This market right now is like a piranha feeding frenzy!!

So today, I re-upped my financing by liquidating some long standing investments.  Bye bye, Baby! :bigcry:

Now, I at least can make a more substantial bid if we find another workable dwelling to make into OURS.

That's nuts. :GA:

So are bids ordered in terms of time received and not amount? I thought it was set up where the sellers would gather bids as long as they could get away with in the terms of the bids and then go with the highest?

That's generally how it works.
But to see that your noon time bid was way down the line on a property that came on the market at ten AM, theoretically, Kind of make one wonder if I need a Spark Plug in me arse  or something.
