I finally mixed up the cucumber salad that we're serving tomorrow. Mixing the dressing closer to serving time should keep it from getting watery, as it did the last time. Here's hoping it will be delicious.

Why not store the dressing separate from the cucumber and only mix it just before serving?

I'm guessing it's the salt that's drawing the water out of the cucumbers. If it's not a pre-made mix, a last-minute addition of salt and a quick stir might do the trick.

I'll leave the salt out till the last minute next time.
