Doing homework. Part of it was building a computer under $1000. I did it, but I am sure the computer would be pretty crap.

  I finally mixed up the cucumber salad that we're serving tomorrow.  Mixing the dressing closer to
  serving time should keep it from getting watery, as it did the last time.  Here's hoping it will be delicious.

Why not store the dressing separate from the cucumber and only mix it just before serving?

Went to an art and craft group and painted with edicol (sp) dye. It was like watery paint but still very bright. I did about 7 paintings.

Came home and did homework for a few hours until I got really tired and so then I had a nap.

  We have to do things a little ahead because of time pressure, so I didn't want to leave this for my boss to do
  on top of all her other stuff.  At least it'll be better this time than it was last time.

I'm guessing it's the salt that's drawing the water out of the cucumbers.  If it's not a pre-made mix, a last-minute addition of salt and a quick stir might do the trick.

Both salt and sugar do that. So if you have honey or sugar in your dressing, the dressing still with draw water from the cut up cucumber.
