I gave the kitten to a family down the street this evening. I know them, somewhat and we had been talking about this re-homing.
Last night, I did get her to eat some of the "big girl food" from a can of salmon that I feed my older cat. She took one sniff and motored on it like she knew exactly what to do. She did not stop licking until the entire heaping tablespoonful (probably twice the size of her stomach, but cats can do that, you know.) was gone and the bowl was dry.
I gave them four cans of that salmon and the twelve year old girl showed us (me and her parents) that she could feed it milk with a curled rag for a nipple if necessary. I think she is going to be fine. I only knew her for two days, but she is very strong.
