Had a mechanic for the annual heating system check visiting.
Got kids to school, after quite a hassle.
Bummed around.
Called a friend I had not spoken in a year. Was good to talk to him.
Went to an appointment with oldest.
Dropped oldest at her dad.
Now home, should really make some dinner. But feel knocked out.

Put away a few more things in the house.  Shopped.  Managed to stick pretty much to the days plan.

Took Marley with me and got her a doughnut and let her run down by the river

Worked but didn't actually produce much.

Work. Lots of different things that needed doing at work. Sorting, stacking, till work, culling.
Also bought a bag I saw. (Mine has a broken zipper, and I figured another bag at the thrift shop would be cheaper than getting a good long zipper.)
Provided a very late dinner too. (shoved some frozen pizzas in the oven)

Shitload of washing, vacuuming, knitting, watering plants, tidying a bit, writing emails, paying stuff. Baked pancakes. Got through a hot day OK.

Spent the day at Heathrow and (after a delay) flew back home.

Went to an open mike night for music and poetry in a church in Exeter NH.   As usual, Carla stole the show!   8)

What did she do?

She recited one of her poems, which was clever and whimsical and well done.  Most of the other poets seem to have themes of deeeeeeeeeep introspection or really dark themes.  And go on and on and on.  She likes to keep hers short and to the point.

I am no critic of poetry but short and to the point is what I prefer.
