Today, I listened to amazing vinyl I picked up a few days ago down in "Broad Ripple"  (one of the modern cultural centers of central Indiana) at a "used record store."

I walked out with twenty five awesome albums:

Pete Fountain (2)
Janis Joplin
Roberta Flack
Dave Brubeck
Diana Ross
Doors
Maynard Ferguson (2)
Deutsche Grammaphon all classical (11)
Apocalyptica (3)
Joe Bonamassa (2)

I am most amazed at how Apocalyptica sounds (different) on vinyl. My daughter loves this band, but on CD, it is so overly compressed that it grates on ones teeth. Playing it from the vinyl mastering, going through my tube based pre-amp, tube power amps, open box full range system etc it is actually quite listenable and surprisingly high resolution!!

YUP!  Been shopping a lot lately.

I have my Dad's collection of Dixieland jazz albums from the 50's and 60's.  Some are re-presses of older albums.

Slept in. Got out of bed a few times in my dreams, finding myself in bed to my amazement every time I woke a bit.
Did some hasty grocery shopping. Had a late breakfast with kids.
Bummed around, knitted, wrote an email, wrote a BD card, culled some dandelions(about a bucket full), cleaned the patch with berry-bushes and some remnant strawberry plants, mowed the lawn. Supervised youngest while she made one of her favourite dishes for dinner. Enjoyed the meal.
Lazy day. Oh, made a phone call to my mum too. And went for a walk.

Not too much king's day hassle going on in this village.

Went to two supply houses I buy materials from and paid off my accounts
Built some shelving in a small fenced off area behind my shed
Cleared the area where I am planting a garden

Time to go picking and call it a day.

Attempted to get car inspected and registered. Failed because the front license plate holder is cracked and the windshield wipers are old. Now I have to take more time off work and pay for another inspection when they're fixed.  :grrr:

Phone calls, emails, catering kids, went to local health centre a few times. Had an appointment with autism/mindfulness trainer. Bought a present for a friend. Made food. Went to celebrate BD of said friend. Was a fun very spazzy party small enough for all spazzes to like it. Time for bed.

Accepted delivery of mattresses and items in storage, all 120 boxes/items.  Unpacked some boxes.  I have 2 boxes for the consignment store and  I brought 1 box to the thrift store.  Also 3 huge bags of Styrofoam for later disposition.

Picked up some books at school for the oldest (sick). One of the teachers, off work, offered me something to drink. We talked for a few hours. In the mean time, pupils, also after school hours, entered her classroom, to do some extra work.

Took cold medicine and slept a lot, I have not had a bad cold in a few years and it's hitting me hard :thumbdn:

Downloaded papers to grade.
Hunted for something that I can't remember and didn't find.  :trainwreck:
I did however find the extras of my beloved Rotring Rive and immediately opened one  (very different for me)
Hauled a trunk full of stuff upstairs so that we have room to put a new sofa.
Worked on remembering my eBay password because I had written it down wrong.
Cleaned a couple of fountain pens.
Hunted for my money (found it in my wallet)
Went to the market, looked at the gardening stalls (bought pansies), bought this month's candy supply, bought breakfast sausage for Pk and avoided the beer and wine festival ('way crowded and I only drink port and sake)
Plated pansies for Pk to see when she gets home.
put the pork in to marinate
gave the steak a decent burial in the freezer.
Started dinner (GF pizza - crust from scratch)
made a rambling post in "What have you done today (Pt 2)?" on I-squared

Got some bits of groceries, took Mel to the yarn/fibre factory shop in Bradford, then went for a nice Mexican for lunch since its Beltane. Then a busy night at work... four day weekend now though, Monday is a bank holiday and I booked Tuesday off.  :headbang2:
