Have been trying to do less of that lately. The last year has been too much and it was catching up.

I spent yesterday in transit. Most of it in airport terminals and some of it on board planes.

Cooked, stew w/venison, spaghetti w/light tomato sauce.
SIL & BIL stopped by...visited.
Made a batch of laundry detergent since I was running out...did more laundry.

How do you make your laundry detergent? Do you have a recipe?

Read them too.
Saw a woman in it who I often encountered while being a postie. She did papers. We had a talk more than once too. Never about things like the weather. She died, age 43, just like that.

How do you make your laundry detergent? Do you have a recipe?

1 big bar pink Zote, grate with reg hand cheese grater (it's soft and grates easily)
2 cups borax
2 cups washing soda
1 cup baking soda (I have hard water)
Purex crystals (optional)

I grate the Zote and mix it together with the borax, washing soda, and baking soda in a big bowl and pulse it in the food processor a few batches at a time, until it turns to powder...(you can also unwrap the Zote and let it set a few days so that it will harden up and then grate it very fine, skipping the food processor, but it takes more effort and time...and I tend to grate my fingers more often that way)...Kid and SO like things "with the fresh smell"...so I will add approx. 1/2 of a 28 oz container of the Purex crystals in the only fragrance I can tolerate to the mix at the end after I run it through the food processor and stir them in.

It gives a very light scent that hasn't triggered my asthma so far...but that's really optional as is the baking soda.
You can use Fels or Ivory soap also, I've used both before, but like the Zote best.

Shared the petty/sweaty quote tonight at a meeting.

Shoveled out some more snow and ice so I could get my trailer back in the driveway where I like to park it
Cleared away even more of the stuff so I could open the gate to get in my back yard without going on the deck
Emptied the van and loaded the trailer
Went to the bank and to Home Depot
Fixed the blinker on the van

I had bought a small pillow at the thrift store to support my knee while I sleep.  However, I thought the fabric was a bit scratchy.  I found a child's Tshirt in my scrap pile.  I sewed up the sleeves and neck, put the pillow inside, tacked it close (easy removal for cleaning) and it's the bee's knees.   ::)
