Actually went for a walk for the first time in far too long.

Great to see you!
It is indeed. :)

Annoyed and then fed the cat. Put some washing on. Now need to hang it out.

Gassed a load of little tiny scurrying mite type critters that I'd found upon examination, were infesting my jar of wildtype ergot sclerotia (that is to say, wildtype meaning 'non-mutated' and/or not a specific clonal line, making up  specific strain, simply as they were harvested from their parasitized host species)

Wouldn't have noticed them as the sclerotia aren't something I exactly check on a daily basis, they are simply stored for use as and when they are required for germination to harvest ascospores for further culture, or surface-sterilized by swabbing them with formalin. HgCl2 is often used, but I see no reason to, for several reasons: mercury salts are pollutants, poisonous, especially those in the mercuric (II) oxidation state, Hg (I) (mercurous) is less toxic usually, for inorganic ionic salts at least, and its persistent unlike formaldehyde. And more expensive, although only a tiny, tiny tiny amount is needed. But why bother, I'd rather it not hang around in the petri dish on the agar surface as surely, to my thinking that would target the growing starter culture as well as the unwanted organisms clinging on to the outside of the sclerotia and presumably impede the health and vigor of what is desired to be growing in there, friendly fire, in a manner of speaking.

So all in all it just strikes me as pointless. when decent alteratives are there to be had, at lesser price

put up the last of the intact screens (have to rebuild one and make two more), cleared the space where the christmas tree was, laundry load 1 of three to test a theory, cleaned my office, worked on supplement plan, procrastinated calling the bank.

A local thrift store is having a 75% off sale on Mondays for Seniors.

I bought 4 pairs of pants and 4 shirts for a little under $18.

2 dvds for $1
8 hardback boors for $2
12 paperbacks for $1.50
4 cds for $2

Took out trash and recycling and compost. Spent too long wandering the internet when I should be asleep.

:laundry:

Cleaned

Loaded coffee table on dolly and wheeled it down the hill to put in front of the sectional downstairs.

Slammed coffee table on foot by accident *$#@! ...which is now black and blue and matches the toe on the other foot I dropped something on 4 days ago, and the elbow I ran into something with after that.

Assembled kids TV stand...which has 3 glass shelves. Miraculously didn't break one....yet.

Pushed, pulled, and finally moved the behemoth flip up coffee table that he was using as a TV stand into living room.

Cut grass on the hillside hillside. Fought off a plague of locust, nailed some poison ivy with the trimmer, took a long shower.

Boy is at his friends house, I feel and look like someone beat me, kid ate the chocolate before he left...but I have WINE, I can sleep in, and I finally have my coffee table back that doubles as a desk, and I'm home ALONE...life is good.  :zoinks:

if your plan has chocolate, it can't help but succeed.

I've survived, so far.

Could barely get myself to do things. Did do some phonecalls. Got completely upset on the phone when yet again a letter had gone missing. I do not often get upset when talking to people. Often people do not get how urgent or important it is that I am talking about. Getting upset helped this time. Fault of organisation has been brought back to the minimum they could. Still a four week longer wait than first told it would be. But not a ten week longer wait.

Other phone-calls too.

Did get myself to clip hedges in front garden. Only the bits I had not done last time. And culled some ground elder/bishops weed.

Kid unable to eat. So made myself a quick meal of spinach and a fried egg with cheese, with bread on the side.
