Used to think so too, Jack, but when one puts the tree on a sunny and a bit sheltered spot it's doable (for the plant). Quality and the type of soil is important as well. Soil here drains really well (which annoys me more than I'm happy with it/turns 'poor' very fast).

Um also, the climate here is quite moderate due to the sea isn't that far from where I reside. Bet this region is going to produce proper wine (whites/pinks) too in say, 20 years time. It's been said that 'we' are heading towards an Bordeaux-ian type of climate in the future here.

Not a thing I'm happy with though.. I can't stand the heat.

Mowed neighbors grass, mowed grass by highway last night...

Tomorrow I will mow my grass.

Have a neighbor with a huge tree in their yard which produces yellow fruit; didn't even realize it was a fig, having only ever seen the dark colored ones. Husband recently planted a young fig tree for me; looking forward to it being fruitful. Really like them but doesn't seem common to see people growing them. Maybe an acquired taste.

Let's swap some soil, Lutra. Mine drains badly. Living in that part of the village where they did not put in any drainage tubes does not help either. I've had lavender root-systems rot away because of water levels being way too high for way too long.

That is what I forgot to do. Hang my laundry.

It is all clean though. Better make use of the nice weather and hang it now.

Freshly washed and wind dried sheets are capable of luring me to bed though. So, it's not completely ungrateful.

My BIL's bitch about doing laundry all the time, my one SIL doesn't even cook unless it's microwavable....mine carried the clothes down the steps for a couple of days last week when I was sick. That's about as good as it gets.

Lunch break...mowed grass, doing :laundry:.

Gave the PR her pain meds and massaged her swollen fingers.  Fed the family.  Computed.  Just a normal slothful day here.  Oh, yeah, I fed Martha and Hedwig too.

Once the kids were grown, our roles completely swapped, with me being the primary bread winner responsible for finances, and he maintaining the home and doing the shopping. Now only do the bathrooms and some of the other deeper cleaning, like inside closets and cabinets; today it was the refrigerator. He does everything else including the cooking, which is nice because he's a much better cook than me. We're finding we both enjoy our new roles a great deal. A woman at work once told me she envied me to have a man to clean my home and cook my meals for me. Told her, I know right? It's like he's my bitch.
