What have you done today? (Pt 2)

This is true, of course.

I did end up doing some slightly useful stuff, but nothing worth mentioning.

I have been a lazy slug all day.

Went to my father's condo and cleaned some of his disgusting mess while he is in the hospital.  I had to boil water and pour it on the dishes to get the dry caked on food off and used a paint scraper on his counters.  I took a very long very hot shower when I got home and I  almost want to burn the cloths I was wearing   

  Is your father a hoarder, or just messy?

I have been a lazy slug all day.

  Sometimes it's good just to decompress at home.

Replaced the weather stripping around my front door. Replaced the toilet seat on the kids bathroom. Put something similar to chicken wire around the spot where I suspect the mice are getting in. Then regular stuff like grocery shopping, cooking and whatnot. So glad to first part done. I already notice a difference in the house being warmer since I fixed the front door.

Put the leaves in the yard debris bin, gave my son a bath and then put him down for a nap. I also helped my mother with dinner.

Empties the dishwasher and cooked pumpkin pancakes and swept the kitchen and washed diapers that are now waiting to be dried.

I made coffee and took a shower.

Exercised and watched Voyager
Got ready to go out
Bought petrol
Went with mum to get some shoes for her
Went to car air-conditioning place to see about getting my car regassed
Went to the shops and did some Christmas shopping
Had an optometrist appointment (turns out my vision is correcting to normal but the change is so drastic in my left eye that the optometrist was mystified. It should be going the other way, considering my age. She suggested that I go to the doctor and get tested for diabetes as soon as possible)
Went made an appointment at the doctor for next Monday
Bought my friend a present
Was relieved to come home.

I was at work for all of 30 minutes, before I got an appointment with an opthamologist. Now at home, doing nothing.

Cooked my son waffles, cleaned, and took the diapers out of the dryer from yesterday and put them away. I also went up in the attic and got a few things and packed away the cups my son doesn't need.

Not much. Woke up with a bastard of pain in my back.. with maybe only two hours of sleep in the bag. Didn't fancy present-shopping and went back to bed instead. Didn't go to my niece little party (fam.) either this afternoon.. which I consider assholey of me.. but hey.

Kinda pulled myself out of bed late this afternoon and made myself something to eat and started making a broth (of shank and herbs/vegetables). That (cooking in general) tends to help a bit when I get a tadski depressed. Managed to get myself some groceries a little later also and am now hoping coming night will be a lot better than the previous was.

I went and took Ceilidh and her flatmate shopping.

Made a hot wire cutter for some 2.4m x 1.2m x 50mm sheets of polystyrene.  I used a cheap ATX power supply, wired it to run without being connected to a PC, and used it to run about 75w through some nichrome wire that I've got rigged up with steel springs for tension.  One spring attaches to my garage door when it's in the open position (above my head), and the other spring attaches underneath a workbench.  Off-the-shelf hot wire cutters can't handle the depth of cut I need to make, so I had to DIY it.  I'll be using the polystyrene to insulate a new coal-bunker-wormery, the roof of the garage where it catches the sun and tends to bake the garage in the summer and maybe a few tanks outside.
