A video of me:
im watching you sleep!
I'm not sleeping in the video; I'm fully concious, but paralysed.
That is bizarre. Did you know it was about to happen, is that why
you recorded it? how often do you get it?
I get it most days; I consider it a good day if I'm not paralysed for part of it. The onset is usually gradual, and I feel myself slowing down and becoming weaker, clumsier and often mentally impaired with short-term memory problems and jumbled thoughts, which gives me time to crawl into bed, although sometimes I end up lying somewhere in the garden or on the floor of the kitchen if I try to keep working. I never know how bad an episode will be, and I sometimes get caught by an episode that seems mild at first but then quickly becomes more severe.
I set up a webcam the day before this episode so that I could record my next episode just by pressing a button, and I put it onto a DVD and handed it in at the hospital along with some notes that I'd written, to be delivered to my neurologist.
Well i hope you get to the bottom of it. Is it getting worse? I noticed your eyes are moving at times and wonder, are you able to speak?
It was a lot worse from 7 years ago up until 4 years ago, and it's been fairly stable for the past 4 years. My eyelids tend to flutter when I have an episode, and I can usually speak, but my speech becomes slurred, quiet and slow, and I have difficulty recalling words.
