^ Good question. Not sure.. but I think professional growers (at my whereabouts) 'do' mixed states of growth of the plants in the period between early spring and maybe early autumn. Oh, that's for the outside growth.. and the mixed stages ensure them they can harvest on a daily (?) basis throughout that period.

They also use greenhouses here but most probably it's not doable to grow strawberries year 'round. I think in Nov-, December, Jan- and February it's not possible to grow them here. Um, dunno..

Think, the strawberries one can buy in those winter months here are grown in Spain. In greenhouses.. and.. by quite a few Dutch growers (that moved there), btw.

Um, going to buy a second wooden container for (soil and) plants tomorrow. I'm that enthusiastic about the first one (on photo there).

In other words, you have about a 6-7 month growing period for strawberries in Northern Europe?

Um, sørry.. should have looked it up earlier. Outside strawberries can be grown between p/m ½ April and p/m ½ September in the Netherlands.. which makes it only 5 months, even.

Probably at my whereabouts (S.W. of Holland) a tadski longer than (e.g.) the more Northern parts of Holland.

Not that kind of special unfortunately, but awesome with steak.

I don't eat them but know a lot of people who love morels.  They have the added bonus that they are very easy to ID so you don't have to worry about getting poisoned.  Great find

Would definitely do that; wouldn't want to be one of the servers having to move about though.

  Me neither, I hated being a server when I was on the ground.

Its a Nikon cool pix 500 I bought for work because of the zoom but end up using for everything.
