I've always found it strange how Americans often support College sports teams.

Our colleges do have teams, but nobody supports them, and they would never get any media attention.

As one of my friends dads always says, "College teams play with more passion, to them it's about the game, in the Pros it's only about the money"
I believe your dad is mistaken. The goal of most collegiate players is to get drafted into the NFL or NBA and make millions. That's why their grades get pencil whipped through High School and college, very few professional athletes have a degree in the sense that they actually know the material, think of Allen Iverson. If I ever decide to pay attention to college football the Weber State Wildcats would probably be the team since that is where I attended college.

My dad is the biggest college football fan in the world ( Pitt, of course) and even tho they kinda suck he supports them

They beat a ranked South Florida the other day. Pitt is actually looking OK this year.

As long as Penn State doesnt do better, everything will be ok :D It's really a lot more about hating PSU and WVU than anything. I love it how men band together in hate like that.

West Vagina has been pretty tough this year.

OK, Nebraska got killed by Wisconsin, but that doesn't matter now, because both of their seasons are over.

What IS important now is #1 LSU Tigers are playing #2 Alabama Crimson Tide.  :headbang2:

Game is at the end of the month. Big hurrah is starting already

I was born in southern WV, ( big WVU hatred down there) and i went to Pitt and so did a few members of my family,,, so... I *should* give a crap about this feud. Naa, Still dont really care.  :P

Getting into the rivalries  is pretty fucking stupid. I just like to watch good football.

Some match-ups are classic though, if only for a few years.

Even though the coaches tend to stay put, the teams always have new players, it's hard for any one team to be consistent from one year to the next.

From what I heard it was mostly a defensive game with lots of idiot plays (interceptions, penalties, etc) on both sides.  The quartebacks were hopeless.

I wouldn't be so harsh on the quarterbacks, but yes a defensive game.

6 to 6 at the end of regulation (all field goals) and Alabama failed to score in overtime, LSU kicked a field goal to win it 9 to 6.
