Cleaning house
« on: August 29, 2011, 08:31:56 PM »
our family is divided along lines of bacteria. everyone is a hoarder. my younger sister hid hers well. my father and i are "clean" hoarders - both bacteriaphobes, both have clean zones and relatively clean houses.
my mother and older sister are filth hoarders - they don't clean, or don't see the dirt. I've never been sure which.

My mom told me there was a dead bird in the bedroom of her summer house. she of course fled and left it for me when i came up. that was 3 weeks ago. Pyraxis and I stayed there and saw nothing.

the birds i think got in through the dryer vent - Pyraxis and I heard them up there when we went up for the holidays.

Today I went up to survey the storm damage - none - and i discovered the cable was out. i went looking for the wires and found the dead bird. it was long dead - no smell; it looked like a taxidermist had been at it, except the eyes were completely sunk in. I bagged it before realizing i should take a pic.
Told my mom and she said that wasn't the one - that it was in her bedroom. With some skepticism i went up there and luckily had the presence of mind to remember to take pics.
I haven't quite got the hang of the new camera and i was in a hurry so sorry its blurred.

Oh my goodness.  The feathers look like little gray rose petals.  Poor bird.  :chin:

Beautifully intriguing.

Can't imagine how that must have smelled before it got to this stage. Not the filthy hoarding type myself.
