Even if we're not comparing Terraria to Minecraft, it still would be an uninspired piece of garbage.

Procedural terrain generation is an extremely poor substitute for proper level design, because it lacks the ability to produce terrain that looks even halfway natural and realistic. No rivers, no oceans, no canyons, no mountain ranges, not on its own. It's just a nonsensical mess of randomly placed lakes and hills.

OMG, a random stranger on the internet disagrees with me!
I need to prove him that my hobbies are really really really worthy...even for people with a different taste.

Oh, another Minecraft fan. I think I shall see if I've been unbanned from the Minecraft forums yet. :zoinks:

Minecraft? More like Labyrinth on the C64. That was so obscure and retro.

OutRun is better than Need for Speed.
R-Type is better than Mass Effect.
Smash TV is better than Call of Duty.
Gauntlet is better than Elder Scrolls.
Hard Drivin' is better than Gran Turismo.

You know nothing. :orly:

I'm not a hipster. I'm an elitist. Hipsters play artfag "indie" games like Minecraft and VVVVVV. Elitists consider older games to be superior to newer games.

Actually a lot of hipsters adhere to more retro things and act like elitist pricks about it. That's you.

Who cares?

Restricting yourself by one labels , and enabling that one lable to define your whole personality is retarded.
Be that label , goth , indie , emo , punk etc etc.
I'll just diagnose myself as Goddess of the Universe and have done with it. Hell with autism!  :green: :zoinks:

nice is just something written on biscuits.

Elitest seems like a silly name to give to people who prefer old games. Elitest seems to imply that old games are superior. I think retro gamer would be more appropriate.

That's not to say there aren't some great great old games. Manic Miner, Jetpac, Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Goal, Sensible Soccer, Cannon Fodder, Lemmings, and many others are still great, but I prefer newer games. I hated the way that in older games, once you died, you had to go back to the beginning and start again.
