Head is better but I have tinnitus instead.

Tinnitus is way better than lying down in agony with your head killing you.  Even if it never goes away, it's something you can learn to ignore after awhile.

This is not the ordinary kind, though. This is low-frequency hum and LP-induced, and there seems to be a hearing loss that goes with it. :(

Mine is higher-pitched and I can still hear ambient sounds over it, so you're right that it's different.  I have had mine for most of my life.

However, yours should get better when your CSF stops leaking and it is replaced.

I think I would still take yours in place of the killer headaches, though.

I think that it was caused by medication I took when I was four years old.
