What have you done to your hand couldbe?
Had a similar consult myself, although for my leg in this case. They want to do a CT with contrast (injecting a dye into the knee to help show up soft tissues with better resolution) to try and find out what is going wrong.
Likely to have to have to have another hospital appointment to get an X-ray done on my hip, as I want a steroid shot done, but getting it done in hip joints, it needs doing under X-ray guidance.
Uggh. I hate needles. I don't have a problem doing it myself (although of course I couldn't do a steroid shot into my own joints, its as impractical as the thought is unpleasant), but I'm funny that way, I have a thing about other people coming at me with needles. Pretty ironic really, since I've shot up plenty of times and it doesn't bother me at all, but were someone else to perform the exact same injection I would not be happy about it one bit.
With my knee, thats due to old trauma, and the surgery I had was to remove loose shards of bone that had decided to float around in there. I don't recommend falling on, and getting broken glass into your knee. As for my hip, my GP thinks its bursitis, possibly having something to do with the change in gait my knee forces. I hope you don't end up with any long lasting problems like I have couldbe.
