Can't do that with cats unless you want to gamble having your arm slashed.
You should meet Sirius. He rolls over on his back and will then stretch out, to get his belly rubbed for as long as the human is willing to do that.
Cats like that are cool. Liam will put up with a certain amount when he rolls onto his back. But cross the line and he will use his claws.
Sirius will use his claws "affectionately" and deep, when on my lap and purring. And he'll use them at night, first to scratch doors to wake me, and if I do not react quick enough, he will use them, quite gently, on me, to wake me.
I often scold him at 4 am.
