Frustrated. I've been on hold with the tax office for 58 minutes. I'm hungry and want my lunch but I'm reluctant to hang up in case I have to go through this again.
Did you get to talk to them?
Hope so!
My son was dealing with insurance and the bank at the same time today. He gave up on the bank and we eventually drove over and talked to People and got things done. The insurance thing "timed out" and he had to call back.
Renaeden, we know the frustration!
They sent me a text saying they were cancelling my Australian Business Number which I provide to my supervisor at work every fortnight. So I rang them in a panic and got put on hold for an hour. The music was interesting, then boring, then irritating. Almost dropped my phone when a human being answered. They said because I hadn't lodged a tax return in the last two years, they assumed I hadn't been working. I said I didn't earn enough to pay tax. So now they're sending out a form for me to fill in about my work situation.
And the frustration hasn't ended there. Now I'm to call an insurance company because according to my employers, I shouldn't have been working without insurance for the last year. No on told me anything about that. As a contractor, I've been completely in the dark about my employment. Superannuation is another thing I have to sort out.
