FINALLY found the flask with my project in it. I was beginning to think I'd never find it before the contents ended up past their shelf life. Old man found it, a piece of paper had been covering it and hiding it from view, and by that time I'd searched the house pretty much everywhere but on the roof. He's no idea what it IS, but can just about tell a conical flask from a separatory funnel (probably because he broke one of mine and I chewed him a new arse over it.

  My shoulder was killing me yesterday, and today it's very much improved.

Bit of minor pain in my lower back.  From washing The PR's hair.

A little bit sad. Found the blackbird chick dead this morning. She was unwell last night sitting on the tile floor near the garden shed. Found the bird asleep/apathetic last night and she only shortly opened her eyes when I made some noises and was real close-by the poor creature. Left some food and a little bowl with some fresh water there but don't think she touched any of it. Buried her under/near the laurel hedge two hours ago.

Well (yes), I know, I know.. but shame nonetheless.. shame she didn't make it.

Aww. Poor wee thing. I found 2 blackbird eggs that had fallen out of their nest. Both were still really warm so I knew they had recently fallen. One broke when it hit the ground but the second was fine. unfortunately the nest was far too high for me to put the good egg back. So I put it in the crook of the tree branches, where they connect to the trunk and the parents watched me while squawking at me so they at least know where it is. The egg was gone within an hour but I don't know if that means the parents took it (I don't know if they do that?!?!) or something ate it

Re CG: It's a kind gesture of yours (ofc.) but birds cannot do anything when an egg has fallen to the ground (broken or not), I'm afraid. Also, think birds have a different relationship with their offspring (or eggs) than we humans have. Um, how to explain this? Dunno.. Less close, less intensely so, I'd say..

No, no.. not going to do so.. too long a story to vent my stance here now.
