Fuck, i know what you mean. My insides are not good, and nor are my outsides either  come to think of it.

I'd searched and searched and searched some more still. Fuck, I love vanilla coke, I could drink the stuff by the five gallon  tank, for that matter, I could manage quite a lot more than that! and still be thirsty as fuck

Uggghhhh shit. Been throwing up violently all day.  My damn throat is burning :/

Couldn't be all the drugs?  ???

My doc thinks it might be a kidney stone.

From what my uncle has to report, they are fucking painful. Which is accurate. Feels like I got kicked in the lower back by a rampaging elephant. I just hope I  never have to piss one out.

digestive woes from hell (narcotic level pain) and the doctor isn't taking it seriously.

I want to kick your doctor's ass!  :grrr:   Any idea what is causing the problems?

My condolences.  They can get really bad I passed one earlier this year that they said was 8mm with just taking percocets but I have strange pain tolerance issues.  What I hate more is they can make it feel like you have to piss constantly at times as they pass and get stuck.

Aye, I know what you mean about GI woes. Fucking hope it isn't a kidney stone in my case and that you recover rapidly in yours wolffish.

Don't know what the fuck I'd have done without serious painkillers already on rx (oxycontin 80s), it is so damn difficult to get anything stronger than codeine, dihydrocodeine or tramadol (which I HATE), it took YEARS to get these of constant fucking fighting the system, which is really fucking well vexing the shit out of me at the time. Pleading, and pleading and pleading every single appointment that I am still in so much pain, I could not walk for more than five minutes at a time, thanks to the searing pain of a combination of trichanteric (hip) bursitis, neuropathic pain in and around the knee, and neuromuscular/ musculoskeletal pain..

No clue, ans still no one taking it seriously in spite of the fact that my grandfather and sister both died of stomach cancer.

So far my only clues are that drinking lemon juice before I eat often helps. Red meat makes things worse, pork is a little better and fish is OK to eat. Oatmeal and rice don't hurt going in, but almost everything else does when my stomach is hurting. Even cookies and chocolate. Now I am just eating when I need to and living with the pain. I have narcotics but I don't like the way they make me feel. I am prohibited from NSAIDs so I pretty much can get as much noarcotics as I want. To give you an idea how much I have/use: my doc gave me a bottle of 90, and I am waiting to start that until I finish thebottle my dentist gave me in 2011.

A course of Prilosec helped but subsequently did not. That might be my fault for getting the non-magnesium version. Mylanta also helps but lemon juice (I hope) is better for me.

Now I have back pain to add to everything else. It may be related to the digestive woes. Have had that happen before. It's not kidney stones, though. The back pain is in different places all the time. yesterday by left my shoulder blade. Today in the kidney area. My GFR is around 100 but I am not sure what it would be for stones.

At this point I am wondering about gall bladder or liver issues but of course unless I can get a doctor to listen I'll have to go on trial and error.

That seriously suck and it isn't even the first time I've heard something like that.

I suspect that one of the reasons I get the narcotics so easily is because of my broken back. Last MRI showed 10 fractures. I had one repaired but only one because the others were partially healed. But I think they look at my chart and give me what they think I want.

When I worked in the ER the docs routinely gave narcotics to drug addicts who came in faking stomach pain - NSAIDs are really bad for some GI/UT conditions and the docs don't want to take chances.

I was on oxycontin 80s 3X a day plus 2mg dilaud per hour as needed when I broke my sternum. I had to argue with the doc to get the nurses to stop pushing the button every hour.

All this makes me wonder if more drama would work. When I broke my sternum they didn't even take an x-ray. I showed the doc the place where it was separated and she rushed me to admitting without even going to the ER. I'm sure there was something she saw in my face.

By all means, pump up the drama if that's what it takes.  That kind of pain sounds urgent to me,  but I've read that
doctors underestimate the seriousness of pain if they don't see or hear distress in a patient's face or voice.
I imagine if your affect is atypical, you'd be dismissed by docs who rely too much on affect as a diagnostic aid.  :orly:

Bloody christ wolffish...how did you end up breaking your sternum and sustaining multiple spinal fractures?
That had to fucking hurt.

Definitely make a fuss though, about that history of stomach cancer, ask for a referral to get a MRI done, and get a biopsy taken to rule out cancer. Don't take 'no' for an answer. Docs can be bloody stubborn at times even in the face of common sense and obvious need.

I'm still trying to get a referral from my GP (who isn't, unlike many drs I've seen up himself, I count myself lucky to have the dr I do, he is a compassionate guy, and really knows his stuff) to another pain clinic.

I saw a pain specialist already once, after waiting months, and months and months and months more, the guy was worse than useless. Basically took my medical history and then spent the rest of the appointment yammering on about how I would only come back in two weeks and tell him that the drugs aren't working, they are addictive, cause tolerance and dependency and that he wasn't going to do a damn thing to help me and never was.

Guy just totally wasted my time. I KNOW opioids cause physical dependency and told him so. I've been on one or other painkiller for at least a decade and will be for the forseeable future. Until my joints are fixed if ever; I can't avoid physical dependency being on them that long, its just the price I have to pay in exchange for my mobility.

So I'm trying to get referred to a pain clinic at another hospital, so I won't have to listen to a pointless and deadly tedious lecture from the pompous crow fodder I saw last. What I want is something instant release, and potent, for breakthrough pain. As all I have for controlling my pain are OC80s twice a day, plus a topical NSAID spray (diclofenac)
And over the counter morphine/codeine/opium tincture etc (yes the morph cough mixture is OTC here, 20mg a 100ml bottle, but its an incredibly expensive way to get an emergency extra bit of relief, I'll usually use the opiate cough mixtures when I'm going out to manchester city center, as there are several pharmacies on the way there, and one can only buy a single bottle of those cough syrups at any one time)

All I want really, is for the docs to let me have something instant release and strong for when it gets so bad that my pain levels exceed what the oxycontin is capable of relieving. I've gotten physically stuck in town before because I just couldn't take another step without resting every couple of meters, in absolute screaming the fuck agony;

I got really, really lucky that day, in terms of getting home safely. I'd gone to the local head shop, dr.herman's, was my 27th b/day that day, and I was out of cash after getting what I came for, but the guy that works there is always giving me discounts and freebs of various kinds, and after realizing what a situation I was in, told me to take a pack of kratom extract and just pay him when I next came round. Once that kicked in it dulled the pain long enough to get back to the met stop and catch a tram home.

(Kratom is an opioid plant, a small tree whos keaves produce a mixture of alkaloids, including mitragynine and a hydroxylated derivative, amongst many others, some of which are pretty respectable opiate analgesics, legal almost everywhere apart from thailand and a few other countries round there. I'd quite like to get some young plants to grow myself)

Note to self: the bigger the signs, the less crap they have to sell.

Moving/yard sale was a complete waste of time except for the semi-fugly floral loveseat cover I bought for $1.00...still an improvement to the fugly loveseat I bought it for so that's a win.

On to the church sale at 9:00. :viking:
