I just got a letter saying my licence will be suspended if I don't pay this parking fine. The thing is, I already have. Last year. And I have had two letters since saying that I need to pay the fine which was doubled. So last month I paid a visit to the council with the receipt  as proof that I had paid it. They said it was fine and I would get an apology letter in the mail. Some apology. Looks like I will have to go there again. Grr.

Do you have all the paperwork left, including the old letters?

Yes, I have it all. I am glad I kept them.

Ask them to make copies of them so they won't fuck up again.

Took me nearly 2 years, to convince insurance, and the collection agency they had hired, that I had already paid, before said collection agency was ever hired. That I did send in copies of all the paperwork somehow wasn't enough.

After a while, over a year, it dawned on them that I had actually paid. And then they wanted me to pay all the extra costs they had made, when telling me to pay. 
That was something that wasn't going to happen.

Guess they thought it was worth a try. Hoping to convince me it was a real bargain, they offered me.  Telling me I did not have to pay the bill any more, just the costs they made.
