@Lestat, he didn't actually delete them, because he didn't check in his changes. It's a third-party file management system. He just locked up the depot for anybody else editing it, until we got on his machine and fixed it at the command line.

I remember the day the office was brought from the 18th to the 20th century.  We were still using pencils and workpaper for our audits. 

The office bought individual computers, modems and printers for everyone and had a one week training course for almost 150 employees, 50 of us at a time.  So this was a MAJOR investment. 

The big boss got up at the start of our class and said that he understood that this was a major change for a lot of us (like yeah, I couldn't even turn on the damn thing) and he could understand this.  He was willing to write a good letter of recommendation for anyone who thought they could not make the change.  Needless to say I became verrrry chummy with my computer.
