Eh, it's probably just some basal cell carcinomas (early stage skin cancer). My only worry is them getting bigger and being more visible on my face.

I hope it is not that serious.

^We had a similar problem with our oven. We got someone in to fix it rather than fix it ourselves. It's now been fine for over a year. The burners on the stove on the other hand are easy to take apart and clean so we've had no problem with those.

Ovens are more work to fix. Same thing happens, but lots of fiddling to clean those jets.

Main thing I want to say again to Genesis, is get it fixed before you blow your house up.
Not to seem like a drama queen, but it is a bad thing, dangerous to ignore.

Some of my stuff I ordered from eBay is taking a very long time to get here. On one of my items, tracking said it was transferred to Tasmania. What on earth for? I know we're isolated here but how come some things arrive within days yet others take months?

Does anyone else have this happen to them?

Me and my parents are having the same problem with our tax returns... it's taking forever to arrive.

I haz a worry for my dad and stepma. Apparently there's only one GP in The Ridge now. They're struggling financially too. Dad can't even afford a slab of beer or petrol to get to appointments in Walgett. I'm hoping they realize now it's not a good place to be an old person in. I might join forces with my stepsister and harass them to move into her granny flat in Tamworth. At least there's old people's services and proper medical facilities in Tamworth.

This is a hard thing.
My mom is 85 and until four years ago she still kept cattle. Big, worky job, those things! Now it's just a "million' chickens, a few goats and a "hundred" cats. But getting her to break from her old ways was hard.

It was like every concession to age was taking away freedoms and self sufficiency to her. Well, yeah! She has taken care of so many, for so long, it is now her turn to be helped a bit and she can no longer keep up as she did just ten years ago.

We want to soften their lives, but that is close to impossible for them slow down and just buckle under. My mom did not get here by being soft.
I know she will never give up what she knows as her life, until life turns its back on her.

Good luck convincing your elders to slow and just enjoy the things they have earned.
It's hard for them, too.

That's the thing they've already slowed down. They only live in a 2BR cottage. Dad has his lawn bowls, and stepma has her gardening (which I assume she's keeping up with), but other than that their life is pretty quiet. It's just things are getting more expensive (groceries, rent and fuel) but their pension isn't going up. They're in a remote area which means 4-5 hours travel to specialists and regional hospitals. They don't want to be a burden on family in Tamworth, that's all.

That's different.
I'm lucky. My mom is only thirty miles from a good hospital if need be.

Being 32 feels so weird..... yet I'm still the same person, I think?

By the time you get used to it, you'll be 33. ;)

My asthma and allergies are getting really annoying.

Two basal cell carcinomas!
Then the Dr started talking about me seeking a plastic surgeon! I mean, I know things won't be pretty after skin grafts but I'm already a 2 out of 10 in looks anyway. :paperbag:
And plastic surgery (even one to neatly remove these things) won't be covered by Medicare. So removal by the skin doctor it is.

Wow, CQ, this is rough, but not as bad as it sounds right now to you.

The doc will take care of you and you will be fine!
I had an aunt and a grandmother with the same diagnosis and they had little scars after it was done.

You put yourself on a scale and set yourself at a "two" but as a woman you can never be anything short of beautiful. All women are beautiful!

You can not tell by looking at my avatar that I am not a beautiful woman, playing guitar on the beach at sunset. And I can't tell by looking at the doll baby in your avatar who you are.
Well, I'm an ugly ass, scary bearded 66 year old man and I assure you, I am scary looking to most. But there is no way you are anywhere near the bottom of a made up scale like that. Never seen you, but I do not have to. If you are a woman then you ARE beautiful.
Yeah, sometimes life scars you, but life can take nothing away from your beauty, not even by placing its marks here and there.

This whole thing might take a while, but you'll be fine. I do not need to go into the massive "found it early, chances are good stuff." You already know all that.
But I will mention that a skin treatment can happen later, when you are able if you decide to do so.

I wish I had something encouraging to offer you, but I wish the best for you and I hope things go well.
Let us know how the procedure goes.
We're pulling for you "doll baby!"

Thanks DirtDawg  :)

My av is actually a mannequin

Yeah I suppose if there's scarring I can get laser treatments for it and stuff like that. The skin they will use for grafting I think comes from the behind the ear. My worry is that skin is a different shade and texture to my face, but if mum's similar surgery 3-4 years ago is anything to go by it should blend in eventually.

Now I'm just paranoid, I'm only 38. How many more spots will I get in my lifetime?  :GA:
