Still no Wacom pen. So pissed off with myself. In the chaos of the move, when the movers were packing, I snatched it out of their way to hand carry it and tucked it somewhere into my personal bags. Turns out to have been a bloody stupid idea, because now the tablet arrived safe and sound and I have no recall of where I put the pen. I've been through all my bags. I should have taped the damn thing to the tablet, never mind the tape residue.

Yes. It doesn't help, most likely for the same reasons that melatonin doesn't help me.

If she hasn't got insurance, that doesn't mean she gets away without paying for it. Hell the fuck no!

If she tries to get out of it, one warning, tie her up and remind her just how prohibitively expensive medical insurance is in the US. Possibly whilst carrying a hammer in one hand and a pair of jump leads attached to the starter of your car (plates covered up of course) and some duct tape over her mouth. Once she sees a few sparks coming from those she ought to cough up quick enough, ideally before you need to start shocking her or/and loosening her tight fist with a few broken fingers.)

If she has no insurance, then my insurer's debt collectors will go after her, simple as that. I certainly don't have a team of solicitors to successfully chase a debt.
The dealership originally offered to get the damage fixed at the time which I thought was a bit hinky (seeing as at that point I never even saw the other party or got their details) and suspected the dealer caused the damage and were trying to make up a story. But no, they spoke to the other party on the phone in front of me the next morning and I got their details. When I told them my intentions to take the car back and get it repaired back home, they kinda just told me to get quotes from some smash repairers and that they would pay for it without either of us involving insurance. I wasn't about to put good faith in that arrangement so off to my insurer I went.

I guess I better text them and tell them what's going on, hey lol.

Ren, have you never tried one of the various bid-sniping programs for ebay?

You can just set up the maximum you are wanting to pay, increments to increase in with some of them afaik, time remaining to automatically put in the bid, and the exact moment you want your bid to go in, that uses the computer to put in the bid for you automatically, allowing you to jump in just a few seconds before the close of the auction and outbid the user as long as they haven't bid over the maximum price you preset as being willing to pay.

I've used them on close auctions before, and jumped in there 3 seconds before closing time and outbid the last bidder by a penny or two more than they bid, snatching the item away from under their noses so close to the finish of the auction they wouldn't even have time to click the refresh button, 'bid' and write in a new figure using the automatic sniper software. Its really useful, don't think I've ever lost an auction using software of that sort.

That sounds cool, but I don't use eBay enough for it to be warranted. Last time I bought something, it was Voyager DVDs over a year ago.

WolFish used to bid-snipe just with his own reflexes. He was kind of stupidly good at it for a while. Actually he probably still would have been if he'd kept using eBay as much.

That seems odd. Do you have a relationship with the family outside of work?

I never knew his mum personally, but it will be something that is expected of me, out of a show of support for him.
The firm partners will probably go, crush boi and all the other people he works/worked closely with will go.
