CBC isn't too far wrong. Alcohol is far better when dehydrated to ether. No hangover then since AFAIK ether doesn't get metabolized to nasty ass acetaldehyde. Does leave some fairly fragrant belches behind though if consumed orally. Need far less too, 10-20ml ethyl ether is quite enough to get hammered (when drunk, inhalational route takes quite a bit more)
One thing I hate about alcohol too is, with spirits, after a few hours I can taste the sickly sweetish-fruity stink of acetaldehyde when I breathe, and its just nauseating. Although believe it or not there is actually a medicine, called paraldehyde, a sedative-hypnotic/anticonvulsant based on acetaldehyde, as a cyclic trimer. It stinks something truly odious, and it melts plastic, as well as being metabolized to acetaldehyde monomer. And its one step away from the tetramer, metaldehyde, which finds common household use as the poison in slug pellets. Not something I'll be asking my doc for a prescription any time soon. Or ever, for that matter. Yuck. Its even worse than alcohol, and the smell is foul, slightly fruity, acrid and sour, like burning rubber car tyres and rotten fruit. Absolutely vile.
