My nan has been defrosting the chicken and bacon at room temperature and I really don't want to eat it.

She told me before that she would defrost it in the fridge.

I hate wasting food, but I am NOT EATING IT.

I can't stand change of any kind, or when people say one thing and do another. How do I get over this?

I get so stupidly upset by it.

Eat her present instead.

 

I'm really weird when it comes to that stuff too. 

We go MIL's relatives to eat. I stick to the mashed potatoes, cold pasta salad, veggies and green bean casserole.

I take some turkey and stuffing home...and wait until the next day to see if anyone dies first (mainly SO as he will eat anything).

     I tend to only pick when I go to these things too.  My grandfather was a heath inspector and it rubbed off on me

I do that too with other peoples' food, lol. I remember my friend was bought this cheap box of different chicken...things, and she didn't look at the instructions of when to put each lot of things in the oven. I suggested it might be an idea to follow the instructions, but she didn't, and cooked everything for the same amount of time at the same temperature. So everyone including my friend at this little gathering (Party? I didn't think it was a party) ate the chicken things. The next morning my friend had the runs. Really glad I didn't touch it.

I only ate chicken today cos my mum knew I wouldn't eat the defrosted one, and went out to buy another one.

The cooked chicken was left out for about four hours. I only ate it freshly cooked, I thought the dog could eat the rest.

I have a big deal with use by dates. Not the BB4 or Best Until ones. Raw meat, I might go one or two days over its Use By, but dairy, especially cream, I'm fucking careful with cos I've made myself sick with cream a couple of times. It's just so easy to go off. Is it cos it isn't heated to as high a temperature as milk, or what? Why does cream go off so easily, does anyone know?

The trailer for Alien Covenant doesn't exactly fill me with optimism. Maybe there's something surprising and incredibly interesting in the film that they didn't hint at, but it's hard to tell because they were so busy reassuring the audience that it's going to contain things that they liked in previous Alien films.

The facehuggers...now for some reason they remind me of a certain (NT) former gf years past. Who I really, REALLY should have dealt with in the same manner. I.e flamethrower

Puffball? that just makes me think 'good eating'. Found a couple of small giant puffballs earlier this year on a hike (a bit bigger than 1.5-2 foot in diameter, still nice and young and perfect for slicing up like steaks, covering in breadcrumbs and whipped egg then frying in butter. Wish I'd find those more often. Or a real huge one, since they grow to about a meter and a half across at maximum size and can weigh enough to fall not all THAT short of my own body weight)
