Throw a disc in and lift the whole front of the thing up about 3 inches while it's trying to find it...just something quick to try that might get it to load, but won't work forever...basically the laser needs cleaned or the drive is wearing out.

My husband first bought that thing around 2007/08 and it was just working a couple months ago when my nephew was using it and last night it wouldn't play a game I just bought from a pawn shop and I tested another game and it wouldn't play it either and then I tested a DVD and it wouldn't play so the player in there is broken. But no biggie, just buy another one, a PS4 since it plays PS3 games and that way we can play PS4 games if we wanted to.

I have had my PS2 slim for 11 years and it's finally starting to wear out. It won't play DVDs but it will play games still for it. I have it put away since I am not playing it or using it.
