Didn't yours have the rubber case to protect it??

I've got a Fluke that I've had since '89.   8)

Yes but I didn't break it,  there seems to be a short in it somewhere.  I went to use it but the battery was dead which was odd as I had changed it w few weeks ago,  I put a new one it and nothing went to check the battery and it was hot as hell.  I haven't taken it apart yet hopefully it will be something easily replaceable

I broke one once. Static electricity fried it. You should probably check the fuse, though, before giving up on it.

The one I have now has performed flawlessly for close to fifteen years.

I don't have a Fluke...mine's a Triplett that I've had since the early 80's.

Before buying my current one I tried a different brand. I had to return it because the handling was incredibly counter-intuitive when compared to a Fluke.

IIRC, only the amperage circuits have fuses, the voltage and resistance/impedance circuits aren't, unless the newer ones have been redesigned.

I hate that bit about my hearing.

Yes, you're probably right, now that I think of it.

Checked the meter more yesterday it's done,  it just shorts out the battery as soon as you try to turn it on and there is no visible damage on anywhere inside.  I'll have to be on the look out for a new one at the flea market no way I am paying full price for one of them suckers, I got the last one for $30

They are ridiculously expensive.

Just checked their Swedish site. They've managed to translate about half of the text, leaving the rest of it untranslated. How embarrassing.

If you're lucky one will pop on ebay minus the leads/case or something that you already have. Although they bid them up pretty well there too. :zombiefuck:

Ugh, I see what you mean. I tried to click on an article and it had already rotated to something else. Tried to click on the icon for another and all it did was bring up the large banner for it instead of linking to the article itself.
