There is so much construction being done around here due to the storm that  materials to fix it is in short supply and there are waiting lists

I was watching a documentary on the parts of New Orleans that STILL haven't been rebuilt since Hurricane Katrina and that the price of building supplies down there are higher than just about anywhere else in the country. I understand the concept of supply and demand but when people have lost everything, it shouldn't cost $7 for a roll of duct tape.

Places that haven't been rebuilt?  Yes.  Exorbitant prices?  For raising a house, but not for regular building supples.  Duct tape is about $4 at Wal-mart.
