I can't find a decently priced pair of 10 eyelet docs online anywhere

Within Australia. I don't want to order them from overseas.

What colour would you like? I only have 8 eyelet docs. A black pair and a metallic blue pair. I really should start wearing them again. When it is cool enough to anyway.

They're for work so I just want a black pair, easier to polish and keep clean. I have an old gunmetal silver pair of 8 eyelet ones but all the metallic colour has scuffed off.
I suppose if I can't find a new pair I might try and get those ones recoloured to black at the shoe repairer.

I never knew they could recolour them. I recently found a shop in Fremantle that sells Doc Martens. Bet they are expensive there though. I would like a metallic green pair, though now that you have mentioned it, gunmetal silver would be cool as well.

You can recolour any leather shoe. All they have to do is strip the leather dye off with solvent and redo. My mum got a navy pair of dance boots dyed black once. I'm pretty confident they'd be able to recolour Docs much the same way.
Yeah I know they're expensive. The RRP for a basic 8 eyelet pair is $220, and only one style is manufactured in the UK, most are made in Thailand and China now

Recolouring sounds like a good option then if you are not wearing your silver pair. $220 is heaps, I can't remember how much my my ones cost because I bought them a long time ago. Though I remember they were expensive.
