The State of the Union was on last night... I didn't want to watch the damn thing because I would be screaming and swearing at the Computer Monitor.
Yeah, this. I didn't watch it. Like watching a train wreck.
I read the condensed version on Bluesky and other channels this morning.
Trump ver. 2 - "The Revenge Tour...Burn it ALL down" is going about how I thought it would...sh*t's just crashing a lot faster than I thought it would. I figured we had at least 6 months before they started lighting bridges on fire and the market started taking a plunge. I stand corrected.
My game plan for the next few years:
1. Keep shelf stable food/necessities stocked.
2. Renew/refill any necessary prescriptions when they are due...even if I don't really NEED them at this moment.
3. Keeping some cash safely stashed/secure...especially with him pursuing more power over the FDIC.
4. No big purchases that require financing if possible. (emergencies happen, but we will try to plan ahead...I have no debts, but if I did I would try to eliminate those or downsize them asap)
5. Keep a very low to anonymous profile, keeping social media presence down and limited to a couple sites...especially since I'm in an area where I'm in the minority with my political views. (only a few people know who I support and even a few I'm related to aren't too damn sure about what they know)
Do I think I'm just being a paranoid introvert or all this sounds like overkill?
Hopefully...I am just a paranoid introvert...and it is overkill. But quite a few are acting downright feral anymore and seem to have gotten a second wind of "boldness" lately...so safety first.
Nothing would make me happier than being "just" paranoid.
