What IQ said. I'm probably not going to ever work again, but I have an enormous library of books, Pinterest pins, a college text on learning Latin and college texts on Trig and Calc waiting. My life is pretty well settled (taking care of The PR). I'll not lie and say that that is an inspiring, fulfilling life. But I enjoy challenging myself.
BTW - I quit my well-paying job when I was about 27 to return to university. My grades weren't enough to get me into Grad school, so I earned a second Bachelor's degree in Management. Two reasons:
1) My life was screwed up and I hoped a degree in Management would help me get myself together
2) My government agency was rumoured to be adding a performance auditing section and I thought that would help me get into a slightly different field when I returned to the agency.
Well, the best laid plans...
Quiting (literally) royally screwed up the amount of my pension, I didn't find out I had autism until The PR came along and I never joined the performance auditing section.
Both PA and I were strongly into learning stuff. Even small things - yesterday I learned how to replace a toilet seat. Yay me!
End of nonsensical rant.
