Dear parents of students: please do not contradict me on matters of basic music theory.
Having played music for 18 1/2 years, I am pretty good with things that kids who've been played for 3 months know.

Why must I have computer problems? Just had a BSOD.
Did you upgrade anything recently? Like a graphics driver?
I haven't upgraded anything as it is a new computer.

If kitty kats wasn't exactly ready for her photo debut before she still isn't. Damn thing won't sit still for a millisecond!

Will some motion blurry photos do?

I am not amused. I got to do something else for a couple of hours, hoping this download would be done by now, and it turns out it's only half way done. Stupid ass internet connection.
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

:-\

Unfortunately sometimes BSODs happen for no apparent reason. Let's hope it was just a fluke.

I haven't upgraded anything as it is a new computer.

If it happens again jot down the whole error string it gives you, sometimes that can help you pinpoint it.

They had a windows update a couple years back that caused people all kinds of grief with this, after installing the computer would go directly to the BSOD and refuse to boot.  :zombiefuck:

I trash picked two nice systems suffering from nothing but this around that time.  :zoinks:

What a horrible windows update heh.

Yeah I should have written down what the bluescreen said but I just restarted the computer. Like odeon said, hopefully it was a fluke

Could be overheating if you're performing intensive operations on it, there's two particular ones I got on one of my laptops that basically says unknown hardware error or "MACHINE_CHECK_EXCEPTION". Figured that I'd "disable" turbo boosting by setting the maximum processor percentage to 99% in power settings, and never got that hardware related BSOD again for months. Turns out when I conducted tests, the CPU was reaching above 90C in extreme cases and the tweak saw it never go above 80C.

Here's a useful tool that allows temperature monitoring and stats:

Won't exactly help find problems, but it provides a lot of system information.

Thanks, that gives some interesting information about my computer. Means I know what some stuff is without opening the computer up heh. At the time I got the BSOD I was looking at stuff on the internet, had two tabs open, nothing else running. Don't know if it was doing background stuff though. At the moment computer is running at 44C.
