Did get a few letters few weeks ago about a kid of mine, without specifying the kid.

Now get a letter either about me, or about my kid. Again without specifying. But I need to react on it in the right way. How can I do that if you do not give me the right data to react on.
 

Of course, this is about spazz-support again. Because these people know how to do that.

Yep. You don't just get to go to a special ed school. Before you can go there you have gone to pieces on a regular school. It is not for fun that kids go to special education.

We'll see the results of all the economising in a few years. There has been a massive cutting back on mental health for kids too. It now is not a health issue anymore, but a local council matter. So, local councils plod along first, and when things go wrong, because they do not have the expertise, there is a bit money left to have professionals trying to undo the damage. Kids in care before January 2015 were safe from that shit happening. But, in 2016 they still may end up there.

Plagiarizing, lying, disruptive students and guess who is getting in trouble?

Give him a reward for plagiarizing because at least he got some scraps of the assignment right.
I'm 62 so you should give me better instructions because I am not copying anything (because you shouldn't be able to tell because I copied from a bunch of different sites).

These two came into my seminar and griped about how I wasn't giving them enough help (I guess all the study guides and the opportunity to rewrite assignments wasn't enough); got the whole class talking about how I wasn't giving them enough help. So I asked, who knows how to write a thesis statement. Everyone said yes. I said, give me an example.

ONE person could do it.

I coach them for these assignments. I give them everything but the answers. They are not supposed to get any kind of help or do-overs at all.

Next term none of that, and they will know that it was the fault of the previous class.
I've got a nosebleed from the stress.

First teacher I had on how to write a thesis was a snob and an idiot.
He did teach the simple things like footnotes and such, but for the rest he focused on his home made formula on how to rate the scientific value of a text.

Long sentences and words with many syllables would make a text uni worthy. Because then it would be unintelligible for lay people.

I did not want to do that. Wrote a small thesis on the long term effects of peat winning in a certain part of my country, using short words and short sentences only for his class. Did document all well though. So, he could not but give me a decent grade. 



My daughter, to my amazement, got very good directions on how to write a thing for biology at the age of 14. It was way better than what I ever got in university.

My reading speed is down again. It's actually better while I'm in London. I tend to read more while there.
