Tomorrow at work we will be having a one-hour "mindfulness" workshop.
It's supposed to help with stress management.  I hope it is not too   :kumbaya:

Wondering why I am so bloody stressed still.

Takes time, to wind down and to let go.

Mindfulness is a big thing now.

I fucking hate it.  I expend a tremendous amount of effort *not* to be in the here-and-now when I'm stressed out.  Trying to undo that always raises my anxiety level, sometimes to the point of it being intolerable.

I have been partially checked-out as my normal state ever since I can remember,
not that reality is that bad, it's just how my brain works.  I really do wonder
how a bad situation can be improved by total focus on how one is feeling.   :apondering:

Somehow I have been using mindfulness techniques since puberty. Works well, when it is about dealing with pain for me. I can discern between pain to act on, and pain to just let be till it passes.
When it comes to stress, I have used the same techniques to endure more than I should have. Finally learning to discern between stress that will pass, and stress that needs action to prevent mental havoc.

When taught properly, not only should the techniques learn you how to deal with stress in a way that it will not bother you that much, but also that it will make you act, when action is needed.
If taught well, your boss should also get critique on things that lead to things structurally leading to unnecessary stress.  :viking:

Now that I've decided to leave I'm worried that I made the wrong decision. No fun being obsessive.

You made the right decision.  Dealing with the twelve year old made you dread going to work and that's no way to live.  IMO, you dodged a bullet.

Yeah, I know. It's just that this is what I do. I worry. I obsess.

And I feel bad for my friend. :(

Not that I have a job, but I usually also feel like that after a decision. And if I had chosen another alternative I would still have felt the same way  :facepalm2:

Odeon, wondering if such a monumental decision is going to be good is normal.

WTF did I post there?  Meant to say it's normal to second guess yourself.  Not on the same level as your decision, but I debated buying 2 pairs of pants, but put them back at the checkout.  Still wondering if I should have bought them, but couldn't justify adding the cost to the credit card, AKA Eternal Pay Plan.
