I built a very cool one forty years ago, when I was in high school.

But what about the pic I posted?

Second hint: He is an actor of stage, television and the big screen.

Third hint: He has been Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II

Honestly, I would never have recognized him, either.

... Sean Connery?

Don't opeth use a theremin in some of their music? or was it cradle of filth? possibly both but I've a distinct feeling opeth use it in some of their tracks.

Wow, I honestly thought that one of us would get this pic figured out right away and we would all be as amazed as I am.

At this "guessing point" I am less inclined to reveal the identity than I was when I first posted the pic.

Hint: He never really did very well (in my opinion, as a person who grew up with someone in a wheel chair) acting from a wheel chair.

I actually paused my Netflix stream during a program and shot a phone pic of the paused TV screen, emailed it to myself, sized it way down and posted it as was.

Why the fuck are they ALWAYS stingy with the banana ones in every bloody brand I've ever seen of fancy properly flavoured multi-variety jellybeans. Only way to get enough of them is to buy them separately at places that stock each flavour. Those and the liquorice ones. Lucky if there are just a couple of either in a snack size pot. Stingy gits! those are the best ones!

Not sure what that means. The dimple in the chin has to narrow it down somewhat. Patrick Stewart?

YES!!!!

You have it.
Circa 1960 about twenty years old and he still had HAIR!!!
The hair I knew would throw everyone off a bit. I really expected for it to be easy for some.
You are right. This is our beloved Sir Patrick Stewart.  Oh! Did you know he had been knighted?

My daughter recognizes people from the insanity of hearing a voice.
I am a photographer and I look at faces always as if I was about to photograph them. Age is no challenge. The structure of a face is the same. The eyes do not move.. The ears grow and the nose grows, but the topography does not change.
It is the geography or the topography of a face that I recognize. For me it is just simple geometry that allows me to recognize people. I look at them and I have already analyzed the lighting scheme I would use to enhance their positive features while minimizing their negative features.

Positives and negatives applied to a human is obviously subjective. BUT, I have a pretty good idea, from many years of experience, of what I can sell to the people who love the people I photograph AND what features in any face will detract from sales.

You win this one Jack!
Posting the pic again just for the fun of it.

Sir Patrick Stewart.

I don't really follow celebrities. Sean Connery was the only actor I could think of who had been knighted. It didn't have much to do with the face, because I'm no good at recognizing actors by faces and figured the pic was of someone too young to be recognized by their older face anyway.

Do not forget Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Jimmy Page.

Hot dogs had a $3 off coupon on them.  They were on sale for $2.79.  So the grocery paid me 21 cents to buy their hot dogs.  Weiner win.

Now thinking of theremins. And how some street busker got me totally mesmerised with the music he made in it, years ago.

Kid sent me a video with cool theremin music a few weeks ago.

Yes. Know what it is.

They can truly mesmerize.

That is why I wanted to build one as teen who loved to mesmerize.
