I could definitely do that here but I decided not to because when I pass, it would be harder on him since I would be so involved in his day to day life and he would lose the house as he wouldn't be able to maintain the property. I figure if he's already out on his own, he would lose less when I die. Morbid, but it's a harsh reality right?
eta: I should say, that being said...I won't accept any accommodations for him that are unsafe or too far from me. He can't be in another city. I need to find something for him here or at the very least if it's a great location, easy to get back to this city via public transportation. There's places one city over but it's in a really rundown part of town and he wouldn't feel safe there. So he knows he can live here until we find something that will truly work for him.
Understand completely. That's why I breathed a cautious sigh of relief when The PR said that. It's going to be a while before it can happen and she's just started at Magnolia. Lots can happen between now and then. The "pressing" issue is who to ask to be her spokesperson after I'm gone. My sister is hand-to-mouth and lives about 400 miles away. PA's sister lives in Florida. There's PA's niece about 80 miles away, but that's an awful lot to ask of a niece. But PA's sister and niece are The PR's god parents, so maybe it will work out. Yeah, I know god parents don't have any legal responsibility, but they may step up.
