  I'm thinking that if this song had been around when my father was alive and still had his hearing,
  the Spanish-y/mariachi/whatever sound of it would have made him smile, as it makes me smile.

Thinking I want to go home now.

  "Home" is a moving target lately.  Home is this apartment, in my dreams it's my childhood home,
  in my waking dreams it's some beautiful place of my own in the Rockies.  And even then, I realize
  that there's a destination after all this, and it may be some sort of spirit world, or it may just be a hole
  in the ground and a state of unaware nonexistence.  So, yeah ... where is home? 

Well, it's not a hotel room or a rented flat.

I had to tell a poltergeist to shut the fuck up last night, so he gave up. This is my home now, bitch.

  Sounds as if the poltergeist is coming back, probably with a few friends.

  When I took driving lessons some 30 years ago, I was warned not to look at parked cars
  out of fear of hitting them, because the more I looked at them, the closer I'd steer toward them.

There's a domestic house spider (barn funnel weaver) in my bedroom at the moment. Caught the same chap in a glass a week ago and released him on my balcony after that. Um, I could do the same thing again this evening but this night the temperature will drop towards p/m -5°C. Seems a bit cruel to do to cold-blooded creature.

  If he's not poisonous and you're not nervous, I suppose you could let him stay ...

Just read that this type of spider can 'bite' but they tend to not be aggressive towards human beings.

I'm not nervous or afraid for this fellow but.. I do think I'll remove him from the ceiling above my bed when he decides to stay there any longer.

Plus, probably the T on my balcony doesn't go that low (< -5°C).

  I have the occasional house spider on a ceiling in the apartment, which makes me a bit nervous, so
  I just reach up with my broom and give the spider a "ride" down to the floor on the end of it.
