Reminds me of my former cat.

He was a master in getting abscesses. Vet in the end did not even want to see him any more if I called. He'd just as: "Can you get it open yourself?". If I confirmed, he'd tell me to collect some anti-biotic. Often enough for more than one treatment, thus saving me costs. That cat did not heal without anti-biotic treatment.
