Yoshi keeps sneaking into places he isn't supposed to be in... not surprised. He did get caught by a trap my neighbor had set out because Raccoons kept congregating in his backyard.

I had a promising interview yesterday but I'm worried I severely underquoted myself on my salary expectation :(

Was it higher than what you're making right now?

Well..yeah. It's part of the reason I'm looking for a new job. I have no yard stick you see. I know I'm paid like shit at my current job but I'm not sure what the going market rate for someone like me actually is. That and I'd at least like to get by financially again and I'm worried the salary I stated isn't enough, or if it is it won't be for long with the constant interest rate rises.

Have a think about what a comfortable salary means for you before you get to an interview, making sure you know what your lower limit is. Do your research - Glassdoor, etc will be useful unless your role is a very unusual one. Then add 10-15% at the very least, more if you can't get a match when researching for what to ask for, but be thorough when investigating. Negotiate. Walk away if they offer less.

If they want you they will return with a counteroffer. If not, you didn't want it in the first place because you have standards.

I've been through the other side of job interviews more than my share lately, and while I have a decent idea of what a candidate will ask for - the numbers vary depending on location and experience, and sometimes other, more intangible skills - the fact is that the successful ones are the expensive ones. Don't ever be afraid to ask for what you think you are worth.
"Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

The Hays Salary Guide says I should be getting around 82-87k (exclusive of super). Which is like in an ideal world money.
Is that guide even reliable though.. Maybe it's as reliable as Redbook is for used car values :P
Should I start waving it around in interviews and see what happens?

All I can do is laugh in shame and simply ignore... if they come any closer all I can do is give a blank stare that will make them run like hell.

Sometimes, everyone just gets it wrong and you have to stop for a minute.
Jimi Hendrix: When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace.

Ghandi: Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

All the utility lines, gas service, electrical buried lines are marked due to "Metronet" installing new fiber optic internet hardware for the local burg.

Taking advantage of their hard work, I have maked out where I plan to put my Japanese maple tree and two mugo pine shrubs, soon.
Now I don't have to call for my own marking crew and wait a month.

You do not dare dig in this front yard, anywhere, since all the utilities are below ground.

Small thing, but it still feels like a win.

Thinking about the decisions Carla and I reached for our vacation plans this year.  Florida in October is out for many reasons, instead we are going to do some road trips for something different and less stressful to plan and execute those plans.

What is a mugo pine?  I thought I knew my trees, but, that's a new one for me.

Had one, dwarf shrub size 10+ years old...it got infested with sawflies. They love white or mugo pines. Disgusting AF.  :zombiefuck:

They're pretty...but that stopped me from planting another.
