Going through one of the big boxes of LPs I acquired recently, I found a Led Zeppelin, "Physical Graffiti" I was very glad to find. This version is one I did not know existed. I thought it was a very typical 45RPM, 220gram re-release version with four discs, but it has two extra discs of "projects" they were working on that did not make the original cut.
Now when this was re-done for this 40th anniversary version, Jimmy Page, with help from Hoffman and Rudy G (BIG names in the industry) "re-mastered" it and these extra discs included some damn fine boogie and off-the-wall Zeppelin out takes. WOW!!
What a find!
After researching on the Hoffman website, I discovered that this is a fairly rare item. Of course its monetary value is decreased significantly by the fact that it is no longer factory sealed, but I am going to enjoy just re-living the history lesson this item provides.
This is way better than another free sledge hammer!
