Team of professionals (different fields of 'science') are now in progress of diagnosing my youngest niece Flora, I heard today. Well, I knew earlier she was being 'looked at' but this afternoon I spoke with my youngest sister and she told me that there are somewhat stronger thoughts Flora is on the auti-spectrum as well. ADD and high sensitivity are being mentioned too. Yeeh, those three dx-es fit me also.. albeit I'm just 'lutra*' now of course.. but those suited me totally in my kiddo days.

Thinking about my role in this and what are the better advices to be given here.

I'm thinking about it, too,  Lutra. Not very effectively, admittedly , seeing as I'm feeling rather washed out, ATM. But I guess that question will keep awhile? And a few dozen half-brains are allegedly better than one.

I think that question should have it's own thread. Then we can let it percolate awhile without fear of it getting lost in  the middle of this gigantic thread.
(Ooh a bit of common-sense manages to peep throgh the brain fog, and wave.    :apondering: At least it seems that way to me.)

I'm sure there's a family strain on my mother's side.  Her uncle (born 1899 - 1900) was definitely autistic.  He stopped talking at age 2 and didn't say a word until he was 5 or 6.  Loner, fascinated with gold and inventing things, voracious reader, would talk your ears off about things that interested him.

Mom and Grandmother had strong aversions to feeling feelings.  Not sure how they were affected by my Grandfather's murder when Mom was 3 or if this was an autistic trait.

PMSElle and I have also both touched on the fact that people with strong trauma profiles also share traits with those on the spectrum as well. So it could be one or the other or a combo of both. But childhood traumas can really present as ASD traits in adults.

Yeah, I remember my Mom saying she didn't miss her father because she never really knew him.  Sounds reasonable, but unlikely.
