Freshman, etc. doesn't get used here in Australia either. We just have first year, second year, etc. I am in my fourth year.

When speaking to or about someone/something  who has a name that is plural, the right way is to use the plural form of the verb, like this:

Pompeii oppidum in campo Campano sunt Literal translation: "Pompeii city in plains Campanian are."  :viking:

I have done very little name changing. I was P7PSP at first, changed to PPK which I kept for most of my time here and then changed to my current nom de plume Cassanova Frankenstein after one of my favorite movie villains a few months back.
